It is pretty cold outside right now, but not cold enough to be 'freezing cold' although it is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. My butt is very cold from the very cold concrete steps I am sitting on, but other than that it is pretty nice out temperature wise. The night sky is very clear and all the stars are shining brightly. I can see my backyard and my neighbors houses. There is no snow on the ground, although last year at this time there were huge piles everywhere, and it was much colder as well. I can hear Snelling Avenue and a hissing noise from the side of my neighbor's house. Other than that it is very quiet. My breath is visible as I look through it at what I am typing on my screen. It smells like a mix of dead leaves and just plain cold. I am starting to get cold and my iPad screen is really cold now. In one week I will be in Haiti, writing a backyard observation like no other
