Author: Ciera, Grade 8, Murray Junior High
Location: Como Wooden Outdoor Classroom
Weather: The weather was really cold,it was so cold that when I took my glove off my hand was about to fall off.... the current weather was -12c, maximum daily air temp. was -11c, minimum daily air temp. was -17c, and last but not least the current soil temp. was -6c.
Observation: My observations were that it was cold again but it was warmer then it was last time,it didn't fell like it. I was so cold, and so mad because I forgot that we were going on the field trip to (CWOC)(Como Wooden Outdoor Classroom). I wasn't ready to go out side. My partner Kendell wasn't there but I worked with this nice girl named Desiree and we hurried up to get it done,we hurried up so fast that we had to wright down all the information on the warmth of the bus. The one good thing that did come out of the whole field trip was that we got to get out of school. I like to go on field trips but not in the very cold I would like to go back but when it is warmer like in the spring....Hope that you guys like this post.

Weather: Temperature 13.7°F, Feels Like 6°F, Pressure 30.40 in, Clouds Clear, Windchill 6°F, Dew Point 10°F, Wind 6.0 mph from NW, Humidity 85%.
This is a great start to the week! The rest of this week will be cloudy so I'll have to savor the sunlight! The animals seem so be still out because I have seen many squirrels and birds around here. Winter may be on its way, but with no snow, the animals may think that its summer!
Beautiful Day!

Weather: Sunny and warm!
Everyone seems to be in an extremely happy mood today! Who can blame them with the melted snow and the sun shining. It is the perfect day to winterize everything before the snow comes, and stays.

Weather: Cold, sunny
I have noticed that the river is higher this year which is a good thing. This means the lakes will be higher and better fishing (usually), The picture you see here is the water completely flowing over the dam. There have been some years like last year were the dam literally holds the water back and there is barely any flow. So hopefully we will get alot of snow so that the water levels will be good for next summer.

Weather: Sunny, Cold
My lake is almost frozen over! I can not wait to get on the ice and do some fishing this year. Usually the lake is completely frozen over by November 18th on average due to my observations each year and it looks as though it is going to be on time. Also i have noticed that there aren't as many ducks around. Good thing the season is coming to a close.
Goose hunting
Author: Jeff, College Junior, Bemidji State University
Location: Ponsford Prairie
Weather: 65, calm, foggy
It was a beautiful morning on September 1 for early goose hunting opener. I was hunting a cut wheat field and we got out there around 5:30 am, once we camouflaged our blinds and put the decoys out we were ready to hunt. The geese were roosting on a pond about a mile away. Since it was early in the season we were hunting local birds, instead of the migratory flocks that come down in October and November. There was a slight cover of fog so the geese flew low and directly into our spread, we ended up getting a 6-man limit for a total of 30 birds, and a great opener.

Weather: Clear and sunny, but cold
The cold is finally here to stay, I think. We haven't had much snow yet in Bemidji but the weather has gotten colder and crisper each day. The sun is setting just before 5 pm and the lows each night are dropping to the low 30s and the high 20s. Today was kind of a sunny anomaly compared to what the weather has been: cold and kind of gray. Today, however, was cold but sunny, and there was no freezing wind to be found.
As I walked through town I noticed a lot of squirrel activity in almost every lawn I passed. They were running around and seemed to be stockpiling food for the winter. If anyone knows about the weather, I like to think it's them, and their actions are an indication to me of what's to come the next few months.
