Second (CWOC) vist in Feb.19 of 2013

Author: Ciera, Grade 8, Murray Junior High

Location: Como Wooden Outdoor Classroom

Weather: The weather was really cold,it was so cold that when I took my glove off my hand was about to fall off.... the current weather was -12c, maximum daily air temp. was -11c, minimum daily air temp. was -17c, and last but not least the current soil temp. was -6c.

Observation: My observations were that it was cold again but it was warmer then it was last time,it didn't fell like it. I was so cold, and so mad because I forgot that we were going on the field trip to (CWOC)(Como Wooden Outdoor Classroom). I wasn't ready to go out side. My partner Kendell wasn't there but I worked with this nice girl named Desiree and we hurried up to get it done,we hurried up so fast that we had to wright down all the information on the warmth of the bus. The one good thing that did come out of the whole field trip was that we got to get out of school. I like to go on field trips but not in the very cold I would like to go back but when it is warmer like in the spring....Hope that you guys like this post.

Leaves

Author: Tyler, College Freshmen, Bemidji State University

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota

Weather: Light breeze, sunny

Oh how lovely northern Minnesota is in the Fall. The lush, green leaves on the trees slowly begin to change to the lovely mix of pink, orange, yellow and brown that make it so beautiful in the fall. As I was biking around town and down some trails, I couldn't help but admire the view of all of the trees encompassing the trail as I rode through. It is certainly a sight that a person living in a city would not get to see and truly enjoy like we do up north. It is definitely a perk to living up here and is a very pretty sight for anyone that takes the time to truly enjoy the wonders that nature has to offer as it makes it's transition into the Winter season.

Feeling Like Winter is Here

Author: Lauren, College Junior, Bemidji State University

Location: Bemidji Mn

Weather: Cloudy, Cold

I woke up today and noticed as I looked outside that there was a light covering of snow on the ground. Today felt like it was truly one of the first days of winter. As I was about to leave I checked the weather on my phone. It said it was 17 degrees out but it felt like -3. Burr!! I made sure I put on warmer clothes and headed outside. I thought it was really cold because its the first time it has been this cold! The snow is still covering the ground which can be a sign that it will stay for a few more months!
