Global Warming And AL Gore for President
Author: Bjorn, Grade 7, Open World Learning Community
Location: St. Paul, MN
Weather: Partly Cloudy no precipitation no humidity.
By how much does global warming affect the average worldwide temperature per year? I think that it raises it around 6 degrees per year. I think that Al Gore should run for president again because of his knowledge of global warming and also because of his current public popularity status. The day started out very cold but as it went on it warmed up a lot to around 50 degrees.

Weather: Temperature 13.7°F, Feels Like 6°F, Pressure 30.40 in, Clouds Clear, Windchill 6°F, Dew Point 10°F, Wind 6.0 mph from NW, Humidity 85%.
This is a great start to the week! The rest of this week will be cloudy so I'll have to savor the sunlight! The animals seem so be still out because I have seen many squirrels and birds around here. Winter may be on its way, but with no snow, the animals may think that its summer!

Weather: Sunny and warm!
Everyone seems to be in an extremely happy mood today! Who can blame them with the melted snow and the sun shining. It is the perfect day to winterize everything before the snow comes, and stays.

I have noticed that the river is higher this year which is a good thing. This means the lakes will be higher and better fishing (usually), The picture you see here is the water completely flowing over the dam. There have been some years like last year were the dam literally holds the water back and there is barely any flow. So hopefully we will get alot of snow so that the water levels will be good for next summer.

My lake is almost frozen over! I can not wait to get on the ice and do some fishing this year. Usually the lake is completely frozen over by November 18th on average due to my observations each year and it looks as though it is going to be on time. Also i have noticed that there aren't as many ducks around. Good thing the season is coming to a close.
Walk in The Woods
Author: Jeff, College Junior, Bemidji State University
Location: Park Rapids
Weather: 33, 8 mph wind
When I woke up on Monday, November 12 I noticed that there was some snow on the ground. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take a walk in the woods and observe some of nature’s beauty, it also would be easy to spot grouse with the layer of snow so I decided to bring a shotgun. As I was walking through the woods I saw a lot of deer sign, scrapes, rubs, and beds were everywhere, this told me the rut was happening. I saw a few grouse but only could get a shot at one. Once I bagged my grouse my walk was complete.
Goose hunting
Author: Jeff, College Junior, Bemidji State University
Location: Ponsford Prairie
Weather: 65, calm, foggy
It was a beautiful morning on September 1 for early goose hunting opener. I was hunting a cut wheat field and we got out there around 5:30 am, once we camouflaged our blinds and put the decoys out we were ready to hunt. The geese were roosting on a pond about a mile away. Since it was early in the season we were hunting local birds, instead of the migratory flocks that come down in October and November. There was a slight cover of fog so the geese flew low and directly into our spread, we ended up getting a 6-man limit for a total of 30 birds, and a great opener.
